Only the cave owner ever pays. Guests join free, forever — they never see a billing screen.
The free trial
Every new cave starts with a 14-day free trial with everything unlocked. No card required. The Owner tab's Billing panel shows how long you have left.

From Owner → Billing:
- Subscribe monthly – $4.49/mo or Buy lifetime – $199 once opens a secure Stripe checkout.
- Already monthly? You can upgrade to lifetime at any point.
- Manage billing opens the Stripe billing portal — update your card, view invoices, or cancel there.
Read-only mode
If the trial ends (or a subscription lapses) without a plan, the cave goes read-only:
- Everything already logged stays visible — leaderboard, history, stats, rules.
- Adding players, logging games, creating invites and editing rulesets are paused.
- A banner explains the state; guests see that the cave is waiting on the owner.
Subscribe (or buy lifetime) and everything unlocks again immediately — nothing is ever deleted.
